Yes — the feeder joins your 2.4GHz network so the app can send clips and alerts.
What happens on cloudy weeks?

The solar panel charges the internal battery whenever there is light. In a long grey spell the camera runs on stored charge and reports its level in the app.
Can it stay outside all year?

It is built for permanent outdoor use and keeps working through rain, frost and summer sun.
How do I clean it?

Wipe the lens with a soft cloth and rinse the tray. The hopper lifts out for a deeper clean.
